My photo
I am Hannah:) I graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a degree in Illustration and Animation in 2011. After I graduated I took a few months out to go to Africa where I volunteered in Kenya living with the Masai tribe, and in Tanzania teaching in the schools and painting educational murals. I had an amazing time and would go back in a heart beat. I came back to reality at the end of last year and have recently got a job working with children and young adults in residential care. Its going to be a challenge but Im up for it and very exited about being creative with these inspirational people.

I Love drawing happy, funny, cute and beautiful things, that make me feel nice inside. My work has meanings obviously but I like the feeling that it gives me whilst doing it the best :) Drawing and painting is my favourite thing to do. Pencils are my friends. Can’t beat a good bit of collage either.

Hope you enjoy my work, thank you please.

Hairy Mc Lairy......

I have a slight obsession with hair, well drawing it..... done alot of preliminary sketching and along my little journey of hair i decided that I really liked 17th Century hair styles and got a bit obsessed with that and combining it with the idea of "dogs and their owners".  I've put a bit of my sketchbook work on, for my mummy to look at :) plus I suppose you can have a look of how I got to where I finished. Hope you likey...

And these are my final pieces below :) Done with colour pencil in the style of 17th century hair and vintage photography.

I didn't catch it from you......?

These are from my first year of Illustration.... for some strange reason I decided to do a project about STI's, I just found it incredibly interesting how people in general presume that only skanks can hoe bags can contract  STI's when infact any one can.... even the most beautiful people!

In these images I am trying to capture the fact that anyone can have them and be completely oblivious to it.

slap a bit of paint on her :D

Some paintings I did a while back that I found and thought hey I like these!  Done with Acrylics and Gouache.

Find me a Lonely Heart :(

This is a piece I did the other week for a project called Lonely Hearts.  We had to find lots of Lonely Heart adds and go through them, find out favourite and then depict what we thought the person who had wrote it would be like and what they were looking for.  I don't have my add to hand but it was a 65 year old lady who liked gardening and reading and she was looking for a black man with similar interests.

Sooo here she is :) she planted her love tree and sat waiting and watching him grow from it, as you can see he isn't completely grown yet as parts of him are still attached to the tree.  I really enjoyed doing this piece and have a nice little sketch book to accompany it :)

I LOVE WHERE I LIVE!

How can I not?!
These are some photos that I took for my holiday project, the girl in the photo's is also called Hannah and she loves our home just as much as me!  Perfect model and I was really happy with how the shots came out, these are a few of my favourite that I edited.

Contemplation.......... I wanted my holiday project to be personal to me so I did it about the beautiful place I live in and my appreciation for it...

I loved doing my sketch book for the project but my final pieces weren't as fun... I like them still but if  I had time I'd deffinately approach them in a different way.

To do the drawings I took ALOT of photos.... which I am actually quite pround of, and will be putting them on when I have a sec.

Dream me a dream.....

One of my recent projects was called memory, and we were asked to use the word and come up with our own project around it. I chose dreams.... or in my case nightmare, which unfortunately for me I suffer from badly! Here are some of my pieces that I did.

I did alot of pre sketching before hand when I woke up in the morning remembering the dream. And then later on went to draw it out properly and nice.

For some strange reason I had an absurd dream about vampire snails, I was tied up and they were coming towards me and there was nothing I could do!
